Hallee Adelman
During her early years, Hallee re-envisioned neighborhood games like wire ball and Dungeons & Dragons. She also traveled to space in her under-the-desk rocket, built snow castles for faraway kingdoms, sewed clothing for stuffed animals, and climbed trees taller than the sun (even after falling into a trash can). Mixing her desire to imagine with a quest to explore and share, Hallee became a teacher and earned a PhD. She was determined to unleash the extraordinary talents of her elementary through university students. Adelman advocates for quality education and has worked with local businesses and SDP to provide internships for District students. She has been honored to support child/teen-focused organizations such as Donors Choose, Franklin Institute, CHOP, Simon’s Heart, and the Wissahickon Charter Schools. Hallee has two amazing daughters and mohawked dogs named Romeo and May. Thanks to her awesome husband, her married name will place her work on the first shelf in the bookstore.

Ashley Belote

Ashley Belote believes art should bring joy and laughter to audiences. She specializes in picture book illustration that evokes a sense of humor! She has a background in traditional animation under the direction of Don Bluth. She earned her B.F.A from Alderson Broaddus University and then completed the Whole Book Approach Course through Simmons College at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts. She earned her Masters degree in Arts Administration through the University of Kentucky. She lives in North Carolina, where she happily creates artwork from her home studio. She also serves as the Illustrator Coordinator for the Carolinas chapter of SCBWI. She lives life as a creative journey and would have it no other way!

Anna Lazowski
Anna Lazowski has storytelling in her blood. The daughter of a foreign correspondent and an English teacher, the value of reading and sharing stories was instilled in her from the very beginning. Anna is an award-winning Senior Producer at CBC Radio. She has an MA in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario and a BFA (Hon) in Photography from the University of Manitoba. She started writing for children after being inspired by her kids, Silas and Lila. Her journalistic work has been published in various newspapers and magazines, and she has been a nationally syndicated radio columnist covering music and health. She lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba with her husband Mike, their kids, and their dog Jackson.
